Hey you guys, what’s up? Im back with ONE MORE boring (well,
if you’re an art guy/girl, probably not that boring), today im gonna talk about
Indonesia’s Traditional… uhm… Stuff. Which is called Batik, Now I’m sure some of you guys know about Batik, I mean it’s
got some fame.
*ehem* uhh, alright so… Brief history of the thing. Back
then batik is used to make clothes for the wealthy and for the royal family of
Indonesia, well, Java to be precise. Alright now for people out there who wants
to buy these, it’s better to come here in Indonesia since it’s not as expensive
as it is out there. eh… ok uhm I know these things aren’t important to those
who don’t really like art, so… you can just stop reading right here.
So, Types of batik:
There’s lots of different types of batiks here in Indonesia, (Plus, it’s hella weird to say Batiks it makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason. ANYWAY) you can put it in categories, there’s some abstract, patterned, symmetrical, and stuff like those.

Alright now let’s get straight to business.
JOGJAKARTAN AND SURAKARTAN BATIK :
JOGJAKARTAN AND SURAKARTAN BATIK :
They’re mostly like that, Jogjakartan and Surakartan batiks
are mostly dominated by the color BLUE and BROWN. Jogjakartan batik have +4000
Patterns.
EAST JAVANESE BATIKS :
Well, Maduran to be precise, The Maduran Batiks mainly
focuses on nature, the patterns usually consists of Flowers, Leaves, etc.
WEST JAVANESE BATIKS:
Some of the best Batik producers in Western Java is Cirebon
and Tasikmalaya. Cirebonean Batiks have many patterns, but the most popular one
is the Mega Mendung the mega mendung pattern is mostly dominated by
the color Brown, Blue, Purple, etc. Mega Mendung’s pattern looks like uhm….
CLOUDS!, YES CLOUDS (yes omg clouds.)
